Australian Outback Spectacular!

The next day of our holiday, the Wednesday, it was raining and quite cool. It was nice just to lay around a bit and not do too much, except play games, do word puzzles etc. No rest for Tyler so we took it in turns to play. Mum and Dad looked after him while I laid down and read some of my book, then we swapped.

That night we went to the Australian Outback Spectacular.

WOW, wow and double wow!!

What an unreal night. We all agreed it was the best part of our holiday. If you head up to the Gold Coast we would highly recommend you go to this wonderful dinner/show.

From the moment we walked through the doors we had a great time. Tyler enjoyed it so much that he lost his voice from cheering and yahoo'ing. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who plans to go, so if that is you, don't read anymore of this posting.

Howdy folks

Everyone receives a cowboy hat to keep and it had either a yellow band or a red band around it. We were yellow and called Austral Downs. I can't exactly remember the red teams name. We had our photo taken which we were able to purchase later in the night. The first room was like a great big barn with a bar. There was a guy standing on the back of a ute with his guitar singing, so of course Tyler and I got right into the dancing. Mum said we were on a lot of people's video cameras. Tyler and i had a great time dancing and as more people came in we were joined by others. It was so much fun. We bought a drink in a really cool flashing glass.

Then we moved through to the arena. It was fantastic. I loved the seating arrangements, the meal was great and you couldn't fault the service. The first scene started with a realistic storm - you could feel the ground shake and feel the mist from the rain. Tyler got a tad scared with this and I thought I was going to have so spend the whole night out in the barn with him. But luckily after that he settled into it and had a fabulous time!

We were expecting a great horse show, but it was FAR more than that. There were cows, dogs, camels, chickens, stunt riders, horse whisperer, rodeos, quad bikes, boat race and even a helicopter. Its hard to describe in words how much fun we had. We were unable to take photos in there but the program we purchased has a lot of details, so if anyone wants to check it out you are more than welcome.
